Guru Dattatreya is an exceptional Rishi(sage) with an extraordinary spiritual knowledge of Yoga and meditation. He is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in a guru form. An interesting incident narrates his birth.
Once upon a time Narad Ji visited Goddess Parvati, Laxmi, and Sarasvati and told them about the superior pure Goddess Devi Anusuiya (wife of saint Atri) than them over Earth planet. They all three became jealous, and to break Her purity they could convince their husbands or trinity Gods such as Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva).
Trinity Gods (Brahma, Vishnu, and Lord Shiva) converted their appearance as saints and visited Anusuiya 's Ashram in the absence of her husband Atra Muni Ji who is one of the seven saints. Trinity Gods begged the offerings from Her. She came with some edibles but they refused and put an extraordinarily unbearable demand to feed them as a mother does to her newly born baby.
She never wanted to refuse any saint without any offerings from her door so Davi Anusuiya closed her eye, meditated dhyan of her husband, activated her spiritual powers, and took some water in her hand and through upon all of them three. Now surprisingly Trinity Gods had been converted into three newly born babies. She fed them very affectionately now as per their demand.
As a matter of fact, Narad Ji wanted to break the pride of the three main goddesses of our Hindu mythology so He proposed they examine Sati Anusuiya. Now Narad Ji conveyed this incident at Ansuiya 's Ashram. All three goddesses rushed to Sati Anusuiya's Ashram and saw the poor condition of their husbands as babies in front of them.
Goddess Parvati, Laxmi, and Sarasvati then repented and beg pardon from Sati Anusuiya and got their husbands back. Trinity Gods blessed Sati Anusuiya to be the mother of them. Later Sati Anusuiya was blessed with three sons and they were called Rishi Durbhasha, Guru Dattatray, and Chandrama (moon). Guru Dattatrey was the eldest. He has three heads and accompanies four dogs always with him as the symbol of Earth, Cow, and Vedas
ANSUIYA DEVI TEMPLE:
I feel great pleasure and luck to visit this auspicious temple of Sati Anusuiya in Garhwal hills three times as I used to live at Gopeshwar (Chamoli) Uttrakhand for my higher education from 1971 to 1977.
HOW TO REACH:
The Anusuiya Devi temple, Atri Muni Ashram, and the Atri Muni Cave behind a beautiful waterfall where He used to meditate are situated at an altitude of about 2000meters from the sea level near Mandal and Gopeshwar in district Chamoli of Uttrakhand (India).
Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport in Dehradun along with the Railway station also. The rest of the journey can be done by road from Dehradun and Rishikesh. The nearest Railway station is
Rishikesh and the distance from here is 234 Km, about 8hour's' journey by road on NH7. Gopeshwar is the best place to stay overnight which is only 19 km from the temple. You have to reach Mandal village and then a 6 km track on the hill to reach the most famous Ansuiya Devi temple, Atra Muni Ashram, and Cave and waterfall.
Gopeshwer is also a very lovely hill station. The ancient temple of Lord Shiva is the star attraction here which is being protected by the Archeological Survey of India.
Luckily I used to live just in front of this most auspicious temple for 4 years during my student career. If you have time and mood to do tracking then Tung Nath temple of Lord Shiva(one of the Panch Kedar) may be the best destination which lies onward Chopta.
ABDHUTT GITA IS CAPABLE ENOUGH TO TEACH US ABOUT GURU DATTATREY'S SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE TO US IN DETAIL. ALL THE VISIBLE OBJECTS ON THIS EARTH PLANETS ARE THE CREATION OF ONE SUPERNATURAL SPIRIT.
GURU DATTATREY GAVE US THE CONCEPT OF THE SAME 'ADETWAD'. IN OTHER WORDS, OUR SOUL IS SUPER AND THIS IS THE PART OF THE SAME SUPERNATURAL POWER TO WHOM YOU SAY, GOD.
GURU DATTATREY HAS 24 GURUS AS UNDER:
The philosophy of Guru Dattatray was totally different. He gained knowledge from many sources and considered them his Guru. Thus He had 24 Gurus all together and under:
(1) THE SUN:
The Sun teaches us a great lesson about life. The Sun absorbs the water from the Earth's planet and sacrifices on time the same way an intelligent person should sacrifice all kinds of mala fide intentions from his senses to become happy.
(2) THE MOON:
The soul is perfect and immortal learn this lesson from the Moon. The Moon is always perfect and remains stable. We feel the Moon is sometimes small or big due to the shade of the Earth. Our souls remain the same.
(3) THE WIND:
The wind always flows continuously, and never involves herself with any element of any kind. Inner breath survives on whatever is available. Men should adopt the same method in life and should be satisfied with the available facilities without running behind an unwanted materialistic World.
(4) THE WATER:
Learn cleanness and sweetness from the water. Humans should always be free from all kinds of cheating habits.
(5) THE FIRE:
The fire's own abdomen is its pot and the fire absorbs the same quantity which is actually required as per the capacity. Thus men should not run behind the luxury and materialistic world unnecessarily.
(6) THE SKY:
Adopt the quality to remain incompatible with the Sky. The sky is surrounded by the Sun, Moon, stars, wind, clouds, and so many other uncounted elements and planets but always keeps itself incompatible from all. Our soul has the same nature. The soul is extensive and incompatible like the sky.
The soul has no connections with the body and does not involve any organs as well as worldly affairs. We should lead our lives like an audience watching a movie in a picture hall. This method will provide us a wave of true mental peace.
(7) THE EARTH:
We learn apology and charitable deeds qualities from the Earth. We exploit the Earth in several ways, dig, spit, and spread dirt but She never takes revenge and, excuses us all the time.
(8) THE ELEPHANT:
Learn an important lesson from an elephant. The way an elephant falls down in a dig in the temptation of a paper female elephant and the whole of his life is being tortured, the same thing is being repeated by a man with a beautiful woman in search of sexuality. Thus we should understand the demerits of sexuality and avoid this bad practice.
(9) THE BOY:
Have you noticed a newly born baby sleeping soundly without any tension after drinking his mother's milk same way we should be fully satisfied with our earnings and assets collected in a day? to remain happy.
(10) AN ARCHER (a person who is an expert in the use of a bow and arrow):
I learned the way of meditation and Dhyan from an Archer so you can.
(11)THE LION:
The Lion likes to stay alone always. Loneliness is a helpful situation to avoid quarrels among many people or even two, and better for meditation or dhyan. I learned to remain lonely from the lion.
(12) THE SPIDER:
The spider gets stuck in her own created cobweb. Men also get stuck in their own resolutions and alternatives so we should learn this lesson from the spider and should keep on leaving our resolutions and alternatives to save from all kinds of worries.
(13) AN INTELLIGENT BIRD 'CROW':
Crow is an intelligent bird who takes the right decision at the right time for example when a piece of flash in its beak is being snatched by some other powerful bird-like eagle, soon crow drops this down on the Earth to escape from the attack.
So those who are involved in luxury become the victim of thieves, dacoits, and other unwanted elements in society, and like the crow, we should sacrifice all the unnecessary luxury to remain safe and happy.
(14) THE FISH:
The fish is being caught in a fishing hook so easily by a fisherman because of the taste of her tongue so We should have command of our tongue and its taste. You should eat a little healthy diet as per the body's requirements.
(15) THE BEE HIVE:
Bees do hard labor to make the nest, collect the honey, and one day dies because of the same cause. So a saint should live far away from the collection of all kinds of materialistic things.
(16) THE PROSTITUTE:
Learn the quality of hopelessness which may help you to adopt the way of self-consciousness. When a prostitute gets no sex work gets hopeless and tries to do better in her life so a hopeless person can select the way of meditation in search of self-consciousness.
(17) THE SNAKE:
Snake never makes any hole to live but snatches the other areas, the same way a saint should have no desire to make any assets or house, and should pass his time in any temple, church, mosque, or in cave.
(18) THE HYPNOSIS:
Bhrangi is a kind of insect that catches some insects and keeps them in its nest then starts to create its voice continuously, and with the effect, the insect is lost in that sound.
Man has the same nature as always thinking about his body and becomes body conscious but when he awakes and comes to know about his soul then becomes soul conscious, breaks his attachments with the body, and selects the path of achieving self-consciousness.
(19) THE BALL:
The ball teaches us two lessons about life. First, leave all kinds of attachments otherwise like the ball stuck inside the lotus because of its good smell, we will also be stuck in this worldly environment.
Secondly, We should not stop, continuously moving from one place to another place to learn more but in the case of a saint, He should accept the offerings from door to door as a ball flies from one flower to another to collect the sweet juice.
(20) THE INSECT:
The man behaves like an insect. As an insect is attracted towards the fire or a Deepak and dies the same way we are running behind the opposite sex and ruining life.
(21) THE PYTHON:
We should have complete satisfaction within us like a python and believe in God. Do your duty and never think of its result and do not hope to gain extra. A python never hopes for more and is in comfort in one place.
(22) THE PIGEON:
Affection is responsible for decay or death. Pigeons always live together and fly together and love each other too much. This is the reason a fawn can easily catch them in his mesh.
Therefore an intelligent person should lose affection as much as possible to get salvation in life. The root cause of men's life and death, again and again, is only affection.
(23) THE DEER:
As melody attracts the deer and the hunter kills the deer the same way we should avoid the attraction of melody to keep us on the right track in our life.
(24) THE SEA:
Learn two main lessons from the sea seriousness and tolerance. Lots of rivers with huge dust and garbage fall into the sea but never revolt and cross the limit. The life of a saint is the same.
Sea is more powerful than when a tsunami comes then no external power can stop the aftereffects and the same is a nature of a holy saint. We know Rishi Durbhasa very well in this regard.
Conclusion:
Thus Guru Dattatrey learned the lessons from all 24 gurus above and gave us the valuable path and guidelines to improve our lifestyle. We can also achieve salvation if we follow his teachings in our life.
As a matter of fact, We learn a great lesson from the teachings of Guru Dattatrey to adopt each and evevery ones our Guru who could teach us anything in every walk of life every day. For example, a Traffic Policeman is also our Guru as he is teaching us the rule of road driving, and like this many more examples are spread around our life.

गुरु दत्तात्रेय योग और ध्यान के असाधारण आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान के साथ एक असाधारण ऋषि हैं। वे गुरु रूप में भगवान विष्णु के अवतार हैं। एक रोचक घटना उनके जन्म का वर्णन करती है।
एक बार नारद जी ने देवी पार्वती, लक्ष्मी और सरस्वती के दर्शन किए और उन्हें पृथ्वी ग्रह पर उनसे श्रेष्ठ शुद्ध देवी अनुसुइया (संत अत्रि की पत्नी) के बारे में बताया। वे तीनों ईर्ष्यालु हो गए, और उसकी पवित्रता को भंग करने के लिए वे अपने पतियों या ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश (शिव) जैसे त्रिमूर्ति देवताओं को मना सकते थे। at

गुरु दत्तात्रेय ने हमें उसी 'आदित्व' की अवधारणा दी। दूसरे शब्दों में, हमारी आत्मा सुपर है और यह उसी अलौकिक शक्ति का हिस्सा है जिसे आप कहते हैं, भगवान।
गुरु दत्तात्रेय के 24 गुरु इस प्रकार हैं:
गुरु दत्तात्रेय का दर्शन बिल्कुल अलग था। उन्होंने कई स्रोतों से ज्ञान प्राप्त किया और उन्हें अपना गुरु माना। इस प्रकार उनके 24 गुरु एक साथ और नीचे थे:
(1) सूर्य:
सूर्य हमें जीवन के बारे में एक महान सीख देता है। सूर्य पृथ्वी लोक से जल ग्रहण करता है और समय पर त्याग करता है, उसी प्रकार एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को सुखी होने के लिए अपनी इन्द्रियों से सभी प्रकार के दुर्भावनाओं का त्याग करना चाहिए।
(2) चंद्रमा:
आत्मा सिद्ध और अमर है, यह शिक्षा चन्द्रमा से सीखो। चंद्रमा हमेशा उत्तम और स्थिर रहता है। हमें लगता है कि पृथ्वी की छाया के कारण चंद्रमा कभी छोटा या बड़ा होता है। हमारी आत्माएं वही रहती हैं।
(3) हवा:
हवा हमेशा निरंतर बहती है, और कभी भी किसी भी प्रकार के किसी तत्व के साथ खुद को शामिल नहीं करती है। जो कुछ भी उपलब्ध है, उसी पर भीतर की श्वास जीवित रहती है। पुरुषों को जीवन में यही तरीका अपनाना चाहिए और अवांछित भौतिकवादी दुनिया के पीछे भागे बिना उपलब्ध सुविधाओं से संतुष्ट रहना चाहिए।
(4) पानी:
पानी से स्वच्छता और मिठास सीखो। मनुष्य को हर प्रकार की ठगी की आदत से सदैव मुक्त रहना चाहिए।
(5) आग:
अग्नि का अपना उदर ही उसका घड़ा है और अग्नि उतनी ही मात्रा ग्रहण कर लेती है जितनी वास्तव में उसकी क्षमता के अनुसार आवश्यकता होती है। इस प्रकार मनुष्य को अनावश्यक रूप से ऐश्वर्य और भौतिकवादी संसार के पीछे नहीं भागना चाहिए।
(6) आकाश:
आसमान से बेमेल रहने का गुण अपनाओ। आकाश चारों ओर से सूर्य, चन्द्रमा, तारे, वायु, बादल और अन्य अनगिनत तत्वों और ग्रहों से घिरा हुआ है, लेकिन स्वयं को हमेशा सबसे अलग रखता है। हमारी आत्मा का एक ही स्वभाव है। आत्मा आकाश की तरह व्यापक और असंगत है।
आत्मा का शरीर से कोई संबंध नहीं है और वह किसी भी अंग के साथ-साथ सांसारिक मामलों में भी शामिल नहीं है। हमें अपना जीवन पिक्चर हॉल में फिल्म देखने वाले दर्शकों की तरह व्यतीत करना चाहिए। यह विधि हमें सच्ची मानसिक शांति की लहर प्रदान करेगी।
((7) पृथ्वी:
क्षमा और परोपकार के गुण हम पृथ्वी से सीखते हैं। हम पृथ्वी का कई प्रकार से शोषण करते हैं, खोदते हैं, थूकते हैं और गंदगी फैलाते हैं लेकिन वह कभी बदला नहीं लेती है और हर समय हमें माफ कर देती है।
(8) हाथी:
एक हाथी से एक महत्वपूर्ण सबक सीखें। जिस प्रकार एक कागजी हथिनी के मोह में एक हाथी खाई में गिर जाता है और उसे जीवन भर सताया जाता है, ठीक उसी प्रकार एक पुरुष द्वारा कामुकता की तलाश में एक सुंदर स्त्री के साथ दुहराया जा रहा है। इस प्रकार हमें कामुकता के अवगुणों को समझना चाहिए और इस कुप्रथा से बचना चाहिए।
(9) लड़का:
क्या आपने देखा है कि एक नवजात शिशु अपनी माँ का दूध पीकर बिना किसी तनाव के गहरी नींद में सोता है, उसी तरह हमें अपनी एक दिन की कमाई और एक दिन की संपत्ति से पूरी तरह संतुष्ट होना चाहिए? खुश रहने के लिए।
(10) एकधनुष से बाण चलानेवाला:
मैंने ध्यान और ध्यान का तरीका एक धनुर्धर से सीखा है तो आप भी सीख सकते हैं।
(11) सिंह:
शेर हमेशा अकेला रहना पसंद करता है। एकाकीपन एक या दो लोगों के बीच झगड़े से बचने के लिए एक सहायक स्थिति है, और ध्यान के लिए बेहतर है। मैंने शेर से अकेला रहना सीखा।
(12) मकड़ी:
मकड़ी अपने ही बनाए जाले में फंस जाती है। मनुष्य भी अपने ही संकल्पों और विकल्पों में उलझे रहते हैं इसलिए हमें मकड़ी से यह सीख लेनी चाहिए और हर प्रकार की चिंताओं से बचने के लिए अपने संकल्पों और विकल्पों को छोड़ते रहना चाहिए।
(13) एक बुद्धिमान पक्षी 'कौआ':
कौवा एक बुद्धिमान पक्षी है जो सही समय पर सही निर्णय लेता है उदाहरण के लिए जब उसकी चोंच में फ्लैश का एक टुकड़ा किसी अन्य शक्तिशाली पक्षी जैसे चील द्वारा छीन लिया जाता है, तो जल्द ही कौवा हमले से बचने के लिए इसे पृथ्वी पर गिरा देता है।
इसलिए जो लोग विलासिता में लिप्त हैं वे समाज में चोरों, डकैतों और अन्य अवांछित तत्वों के शिकार हो जाते हैं और हमें कौए की तरह सुरक्षित और खुश रहने के लिए सभी अनावश्यक विलासिता का त्याग करना चाहिए।
(14) मछली:
एक मछली अपनी जीभ के स्वाद के कारण इतनी आसानी से मछली पकड़ने के काँटे में फँस जाती है, इसलिए हमें अपनी जीभ और उसके स्वाद पर नियंत्रण रखना चाहिए। आपको शरीर की आवश्यकता के अनुसार थोड़ा स्वस्थ आहार लेना चाहिए।
(15) मधुमक्खी का छत्ता:
मधुमक्खियां घोंसला बनाने, शहद इकट्ठा करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत करती हैं और एक दिन उसी कारण से मर जाती हैं। अतः साधक को सभी प्रकार की भौतिक वस्तुओं के संग्रह से दूर रहना चाहिए।
(16) वेश्या:
निराशा के गुण को जानें जो आपको आत्म-चेतना का मार्ग अपनाने में मदद कर सकता है। जब एक वेश्या को कोई सेक्स वर्क नहीं मिलता है तो वह निराश हो जाती है और अपने जीवन में बेहतर करने की कोशिश करती है इसलिए एक निराश व्यक्ति आत्म-चेतना की तलाश में ध्यान का रास्ता चुन सकता है।
(17) सर्प:
सर्प रहने के लिए कभी कोई छेद नहीं करता बल्कि अन्य क्षेत्रों को छीन लेता है, उसी प्रकार एक संत को कोई संपत्ति या घर बनाने की इच्छा नहीं होनी चाहिए, और किसी भी मंदिर, चर्च, मस्जिद या गुफा में अपना समय व्यतीत करना चाहिए।
(18) सम्मोहन :
भृंगी एक प्रकार का कीड़ा है जो कुछ कीड़ों को पकड़कर अपने घोंसले में रखता है फिर लगातार अपनी आवाज निकालने लगता है और इसके प्रभाव से कीट उस आवाज में खो जाता है।
मनुष्य का वही स्वभाव है जो हमेशा अपने शरीर के बारे में सोचता है और शरीर के प्रति सचेत हो जाता है लेकिन जब वह जागता है और अपनी आत्मा के बारे में जानता है तो आत्म-अभिमानी हो जाता है, शरीर से अपने मोह को तोड़ देता है और आत्म-चेतना प्राप्त करने का मार्ग चुन लेता है।
(19) ब्रामर या भोरा:
ब्रामर या भोरा हमें जीवन के बारे में दो सबक सिखाता है। सर्वप्रथम सभी प्रकार के मोह-माया को छोड़ दें अन्यथा जिस प्रकार कमल के सुगन्ध के कारण ब्रामर या भोरा अंदर अटका रहता है, उसी प्रकार हम भी इस सांसारिक वातावरण में फँसे रहेंगे।
दूसरी बात, अधिक जानने के लिए एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर निरंतर भटकते हुए हमें रुकना नहीं चाहिए, बल्कि संत के मामले में उसे घर-घर जाकर प्रसाद ग्रहण करना चाहिए, जैसे कि एक भोरा एक फूल से दूसरे फूल पर जाकर मीठा रस लेता है।
(20) कीट:
आदमी कीड़ों की तरह व्यवहार करता है। जिस तरह एक कीड़ा आग या दीपक की ओर आकर्षित होकर मर जाता है उसी तरह हम विपरीत लिंग के पीछे भाग रहे हैं और जीवन को बर्बाद कर रहे हैं।
(21) अजगर:
हमें अजगर की तरह अपने भीतर पूर्ण संतुष्टि रखनी चाहिए और ईश्वर में विश्वास रखना चाहिए। अपना कर्तव्य करो और उसके परिणाम के बारे में कभी मत सोचो और अतिरिक्त लाभ की आशा मत करो। अजगर कभी अधिक की आशा नहीं करता और एक ही स्थान पर आराम से रहता है।
(22) कबूतर:
स्नेह क्षय या मृत्यु के लिए उत्तरदायी है। कबूतर हमेशा एक साथ रहते हैं और एक साथ उड़ते हैं और एक दूसरे से बहुत प्यार करते हैं। यही कारण है कि एक शावक उन्हें अपने जाल में आसानी से पकड़ सकता है।
इसलिए बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को जीवन में मोक्ष पाने के लिए जितना हो सके मोह त्याग देना चाहिए। मनुष्य के बार-बार जन्म-मरण का मूल कारण मोह ही है।
(23) हिरण:
जिस प्रकार राग हिरण को आकर्षित करता है और शिकारी हिरण को मार डालता है उसी प्रकार हमें अपने जीवन में सही रास्ते पर रखने के लिए राग के आकर्षण से बचना चाहिए।
(24) समुद्र:
समुद्र से दो मुख्य सबक गंभीरता और सहनशीलता सीखें। बहुत सारी नदियाँ भारी धूल और कचरे के साथ समुद्र में गिरती हैं लेकिन कभी विद्रोह नहीं करता और सीमा को पार नहीं करता। संत का जीवन एक जैसा होता है।
जब सुनामी आती है तो समुद्र उससे भी अधिक शक्तिशाली होता है तो कोई भी बाहरी शक्ति उसके प्रभाव को रोक नहीं सकती है और यही साधु संत का स्वभाव होता है। इस संबंध में हम ऋषि दुर्भास को बहुत अच्छी तरह जानते हैं।
निष्कर्ष:
इस प्रकार गुरु दत्तात्रेय ने उपरोक्त सभी 24 गुरुओं से सबक सीखा और हमें अपनी जीवन शैली में सुधार के लिए मूल्यवान मार्ग और दिशा-निर्देश दिए। यदि हम उनकी शिक्षाओं को अपने जीवन में अपनाएं तो हमें भी मोक्ष की प्राप्ति हो सकती है।
वास्तव में, हम गुरु दत्तात्रेय की शिक्षाओं से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने गुरु के रूप में अपनाने का एक बड़ा सबक सीखते हैं जो हमें हर दिन जीवन के हर क्षेत्र में कुछ भी सिखा सकते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, एक ट्रैफिक पुलिस वाला भी हमारा गुरु है क्योंकि वह हमें सड़क पर चलने के नियम सिखा रहा है और इसी तरह और भी कई उदाहरण हमारे जीवन में फैले हुए हैं।
